Designer Kennels is a family business run by people who know dogs.

As breeders, we wanted kennels that were easy to clean and not easily damaged by destructive animals. It was decided we would construct a kennel from 'plastic', (polyethylene), for cleanliness and edge it with aluminium for strength.

Our first kennel was made in 1980 and after many years of research and developement, we went into full time production in 1997. We are now at a stage where most of our work comes from customers re-ordering and recommendations. We believe this is because quality and customer satisfaction are paramount.

Designer Kennels are the largest and longest established manufacturer of outdoor housing for animals, with hundreds of kennels/catteries and stables throughout the country.

So why choose a Designer Kennel?

Designer Kennels have many advantages over wooden kennels:

• They are construced from high density polyethylene.
• They will not rot, split and are maintenance free, coloured brown to look like wood, they will never need painting or preserving.
• Tough, durable and very strong with a smooth surface, they are steam cleanable and non-absorbant and should give many years of trouble free service.
• High resistance to chemicals means you can hose out kennels to eliminate germs and bacteria.

Construction

All sections of our outdoor kennels are manufactured from 35mm thick x 250mm wide polyethylene, hollow interlocking planks for strength, durability and insulation.
All sections are edged with aluminium for strength and the prevention of chewing. The floors have a non- slip surface, which can be hosed down for easy cleaning.

Because all our kennels are made to measure, you can incorporate your ideas with ours, whether it is a single kennel or a large block. This potentially makes each kennel unique in it's design. For example: you may wish to have a door in the rear of the kennel with a pulley operated sliding hatch in the front, or maybe a stable door instead.

All our outdoor kennels are six feet high and are easily erected by two people in about an hour.

For added insulation, we can insert polystyrene into the hollow cavities of the planking, (just like cavity wall insulation), at the time of manufacture.

All hinges and door bolts are galvanised for a maintenance free long life.
